Our Team

The C.O.R.E. Physical Therapy staff is unmatched in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. The staff is comprised of licensed physical therapists with extensive knowledge and training in anatomy, physiology, and the biomechanics of the body. Our staff also includes Fellows of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapist (FAAOMPT), exercise physiologists, and certified Pilates instructors.

Kendall Black, MPT, CSCS

Kendall received her Masters of Physical Therapy from Hunter College in 2007 (New York, NY) and was awarded the Beatrice Konheim Scholarship in the Life Sciences for academic excellence and leadership, her Bachelor of Arts from Barnard College in 2000, and became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist in 2006. Kendall has extensive experience and training in a variety of musculoskeletal and neuromuscular conditions, including dysfunctions of the spine and pelvis, orthopedic and sports-related injuries, post-surgical rehab, gait and balance. She has also had extensive training in women’s health conditions, including pre-natal and post-partum conditions, and pelvic floor dysfunctions. Most recently, she has become certified in the Schroth method of treatment of scoliosis. Kendall’s treatment approach is specific to the individual needs of each patient and includes the integration of manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and neuromuscular training to restore optimal function.

Hilary Granat PT, DPT, MS

Hilary received her Master’s in Physical Therapy from Marymount University and her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Shenandoah University. In addition, she has earned a Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology from George Washington University and her Bachelor of Science from Syracuse University. She began working in the health and fitness industry in 1992 and has over 20 years of experience as a Physical Therapist. Hilary has extensive experience and training in a variety of musculoskeletal and neuromuscular conditions, including dysfunctions of the spine and pelvis, orthopedic and sports-related injuries, and post-surgical rehab. She has treated professional and collegiate athletes from all athletic backgrounds and has served as the team physical therapist for the Washington Kastles of World Team Tennis since 2009. She is certified to perform Trigger Point Dry Needling and is a certified Pilates instructor specializing in rehabilitation. She believes that it is important to assess and treat the whole person, not just the symptoms or injury. 

Her research has been published in the European Journal of Applied Physiology (1999) and Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research (1999). Hilary is also a certified health coach through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and is the owner of Core Total Wellness; which is her affiliate organization that provides supplemental holistic health and nutrition services designed to enhance performance and to accelerate the healing process addressed by traditional physical therapy.

Sally Sroge, PT, DPT

Sally was born and raised in Boulder, Colorado and spent most of her time outside hiking, backpacking, and playing multiple sports. Sally found her passion in physical therapy with injuries she faced playing basketball in high school and college. She completed her undergraduate degree at Hollins University, then continued to complete her Doctor of Physical Therapy at Radford University.

Sally is passionate about empowering patients of all ages and building confidence with movement. She has specific interests in the fundamentals of lifting, return to sport programs, and creating an inclusive clinic environment. In her free time, Sally enjoys hanging out with her cat, powerlifting, trying the best restaurants the DMV has to offer, and spend time outside exploring!

Jeff Robinson, PT, DPT, FAAOMPT

Jeff Robinson, PT, DPT, FAAOMPT, graduated from Daemen College summa cum laude with a BS in physical therapy in 1993 and earned a doctorate in physical therapy (DPT) from MGH Institute of Health Professions in 2011. Jeff successfully completed the Kaiser Hayward Fellowship in Advanced Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy in 2001 with subsequent acceptance as a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists (FAAOMPT) in 2002. Jeff’s paper entitled “Lower Extremity Pain of Lumbar Spine Origin: Differentiating Somatic Referred and Radicular Pain” was published in the Journal of Manual and Manipulative Therapy in 2003. Jeff served as the chair of the continuing education committee for the DC chapter of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) from 2007 to 2013 and currently serves as the chair for the payment committee. He was an adjunct professor of orthopedics in the physical therapy department at Marymount University from 2007 to 2016. In his spare time, Jeff enjoys various forms of working out. Although retired from competitive racing now, Jeff participated in dozens of triathlons over the past 25 years including the Ironman distance. As an often injured athlete himself, Jeff understands how pain and injuries can negatively affect not only one’s sport and recreational activities, but also adversely impact many facets of one’s daily life.

Tony Touma, PT, MSPT, FAAOMPT

Tony received his Master of Science in Physical Therapy in 1990 from Andrews University. In 1993, he successfully completed the requirements for residency in Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy from the Great Lakes Institute of Physical Therapy. Tony went on to be a clinical instructor in the residency and a national lecturer in the area of manual physical therapy. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapist (FAAOMPT). As a manual therapist he specializes in assessing and restoring normal biomechanics of the spine and extremities. Tony was also formally trained in Medical Exercise Therapy and specializes in sports medicine with extensive experience treating recreational, high school, college and professional athletes. His areas of interest are complex spine, pelvis and lower extremity injuries with focus on restoring normal functional movements.

Henna Ayub, Patient Care Coordinator

Henna graduated from VCU in 2020 and is hoping to pursue a career in Physical Therapy. She currently enjoys powerlifting and spending time with her family .

Omeira Figueroa, Patient Care Coordinator

Omeira is a Washington, DC native. She enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and listening to music. Omeira has an extensive background in Customer Service and looks forward to working with you to meet your needs.

Karen Mastou, Billing Specialist

Karen is a Mother of two and a volunteer parent advocate for families with autism children. She enjoys traveling, cooking, and gardening – especially succulents and cactus.
